Weekly Roundup and Akiba Newsletter Issue #3

Time for roundup. This week we have reach 100 newsletter subscribers after launch a month ago. There was 103 readers for our 3rd weekly issue. Not a big pool though, I do appreciate readers who enrolled and satisfied with the result. Akiba Newsletter is using a simple straight forward template I created. It is also comfortable to read on mobile device (yeah, I read most of my cellphone, and do the reply on the laptop). But it may be to simple. Will spend some time to do a split test to optimize the reading experience. Check out our complete archive for more. Haven’t subscribed? You can get a feeling here or subscribe to get a weekly news roundup by using the form below!

For our regular readers, you might have already noticed there is a Shortlink thing at the end of a post. It is a short URL that I have set up this week. If you visit aki.im, you will be redirect to our homepage. Does the short URL aki.im have a meaning? Well, you name it. It’s short for “Akiba I am”. Also, I was actually putting some of my efforts on an interesting side project which has nothing to do with Anime and Japan though :) Will refer back to you upon finish.

Unbelievable! STEINS;GATE Movie Announced

Unbelievable! STEINS;GATE Movie Announced

This is really unbelievable and I think nobody actually thought of it. Quite usual, it is not common for a series which has 24 episodes to get a movie! What? Of course, we have two seasons of Gundam OO and a movie. But did you expect Chaos:Head to get a movie? Sorry, it has only 12 episodes. The movie is coming 2012 and the head of 5pb. studio Chiyomaru Shikura also confirmed that the movie won’t be a collection style of the series, but a more serious one.

Toradora! Blu-ray Box Coming December, OVA Announced

If I told you that I have already expected it, do you believe me? Well, I am lying and what I was expecting is a different ending with Ami being the main female protagonist. But what we will have is not the case. The Blu-ray box set of the whole TV Anime of the series will be released on December 21st, together with an unaired new episode (OVA).
