Anime ChannelApril 3, 2010Angels Beats! – Episode 16by Snow 677 days ago Yesterday on April second, Angels beats aired. And of course being an fan of KEY it is the first anime I watched of this season. It starts with our protagonist waking up randomly on school property. At the moment he wakes up he notices that he is suffering from amnesia. The first person he meets is Yuri, she tells him that he died and to survive they have to fight an Angel. Guns, lots of it. Here we see our protagonist and Yuri with her sniper rifle ^^”. Exciting, in the afterlife you can’t die. What better way to test than getting stabbed in the heart? Something KEY fans might remember from Clannad. Tomoyo, anyone? =D Doesn’t Yuri looks like Haruhi? KEY coffee, I would like to have some to be honest. Angel Beat’s ENOZ? It’s GirlDemo! too bad the song lasted only for 30 seconds orso.. Even more guns! I have no idea why they use guns in the first place. No idea where they get their guns and ammo..The first episode was kind of a let down, I got more questions than answers. But lets not judge to hastily, I’m eagerly waiting for the next episode.I can definitely see the styles of people working on this anime. The humour from our Director, Seiji Kishi. Gunslinger girl resemblances, also some Clannad resemblances. The characters really look weird at the beginning, if you’re used to clannad, I was thinking of Tomoya from Clannad while looking at the protagonist, he looks very similar but slightly different drawn.
FabriceApril 4, 2010 Angel Beats! is so different from Key's previous works. I really like it. It's a nice change. The humor is alright, guess I am just kinda getting use to their jokes though after clannad. That and I don't know why it seems a bit. . .dark in the situation. It's too early to say whether or not it's meeting expectations, but it certainly has the makings for a good plot. The hook is just… too grabbing; rather the whole premise is interesting.Again the Animation is fabulous. I really like the ED!Reply
SnowApril 6, 2010 They do have the tendency to re-use their jokes, it doesn't matter since it has been quite a while and I mostly forgot about the jokes anyway =p.And I do have my fingers crossed for this anime. ^^
descent87April 4, 2010 I personally was blown away be the effort the put into this first episode. IMO it makes a great impression. They traded further exposition for some dandy action scenes and kept me wanting to come back. Looking forward to following this.Reply
