Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankei Nai yo ne TV Anime Announced

According to the official website, the TV Anime adaptation of Onii-chan Dakedo Ai Sae Areba Kankei Nai yo ne (お兄ちゃんだけど愛さえあれば関係ないよねっ, lit. As Long as There’s Love, It Doesn’t Matter If He is My Brother, Right) was announced. With a short title of Oniai, the original light novel was written by Daisuke Suzuki (鈴木大輔) and illustrated by Gekka Uruu (閏月戈). Recent author seems to like long title a lot and most of them have something to do with Onii-chan (elder brother) or Imouto (younger sister).

The romantic comedy light novel series was launched in December 31st, 2010 and Media Factory’s MF Bunko J is ready to ship the sixth volume this month. Quite a productive author regardless of whether you like the content or not. Also the Manga adaptation was serialized in Monthly Comic Alive magazine since October 2011. And in 2012, here comes the TV Anime though the date of airing has not been released. What surprises me is that Silver Link, the studio behind Baka Test, C3, the upcoming Kokoro Connect and so forth, will be responsible for the Anime production, which more or less increase our confidence.

Also if you recall, or somehow you familiar with the author, Daisuke Suzuki also wrote another light novel titled Goshuushou-sama Ninomiya-kun (ご愁傷さま二ノ宮くん, Our Condolences, Ninomiya-kun). Illustrationed by Kyourin Takanae (高苗京鈴), the series also had an Anime adaptation back in 2007 and the novel itself ended in 2009.

Story

After being separated from each other for 6 years since the death of their parents, fraternal twins Akito Himonokōji (brother) and Akiko Himonokōji (sister) had finally reunited together again during the holidays thanks to some planning from Akito, despite objections from both of their adoption families. Being happy that Akito had fulfilled his promise to be with her again, Akiko confessed readily that she had incestuous love in Akito, and will not hesitate to do anything to win the love of Akito. Akito however does not harbor the same feeling for Akiko, and as a result had a headache with Akiko’s actions. Despite all these, he still loves Akiko as a sister, and finds her adorable and cute, especially when he had not seen her since she was 10 years old.

Hana-Saku Iroha Movie in 2012

No doubt TV Anime Hana-Saku Iroha (花咲くいろは) is one of our favorite series and we are more than happier to learn that the movie adaptation of the series was confirmed and will be premiered in 2012! We mentioned several times about in what media the new Anime adaptation will be and having a movie is more or less the most popular trend in the Anime industry, especially after the huge success of K-ON!. With a subtitle of Home Sweet Home, the news was released on the official website, the cover of the fourth volume of the Manga and some other media. No date of the premiere was announced and we will keep you posted.

In the meanwhile, we also have another great series TARI TARI produced by P.A. Works coming this Summer and you might want to ask them whether a movie is already in the plan. Not sure whether TARI TARI will be another great series? Check out the PV and then mark it on your watch list.

Seitokai no Ichizon Blu-ray in September

You might have heard either from us or other online sources that the new Anime of Seitokai no Ichizon (生徒会の一存) was confirmed. It is true that on TheAkiba we mentioned several times about the new Anime but still there are no other information being released. We heard the rumor that the new Anime might come in April, but it’s May now, and we missed it. New information comes from the official website indicating a Blue-ray Box of the series will be released in September 28 in celebrating of the new Anime. The Blu-ray Box contains all the episodes (12 episodes) of the TV Anime and is now open to pre-order. At a price tag of 28000 JPY (350 USD), it probably scares people away. But anyway, if you like it, you can order it here (or Amazon).

If you read our report about the OVA announcement of Haganai, you probably have some clues about the event Summer School Festival (夏の学園祭) on July 29. We might have some news at that time. Also rumors have already grown that the new Anime may come around this Fall or Winter. Cross your fingers and hope they will release more information about the date of the airing.

Seitokai Yakuindomo OVA Trailer

We like fun and casual series that we can enjoy at our spare time and recharge with pleasure and energy. Seitokai Yakuindomo (生徒会役員共) is among one of those series that we love here on TheAkiba. Written by Tozen Ujiie (氏家ト全), the story revolves around Takatoshi, a high school student in a recently gender-integrated high school, and is asked to join the student council as the vice president. The story is famous for those little Ecchi talks and we somehow enjoy since it’s of great fun. As we mentioned quite a while ago about the rumor of a second season. Judging from the fact, the possibility is low. However, as a form of releasing OVAs and OADs together with the Manga, it sounds like a workaround to satisfy the fans while at the same time increase sales. The next OVA of the series will be bundled with the 7th volume of the original Manga to released on July 17. Check out the short PV for more fun and wait impatiently for the day to arrive.

Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon Second Season

It appears that we didn’t talk a lot about the series on TheAkiba, and having said that, it’s probably that we mention and cover some of the related news in this post. As you have already known, the TV Anime of Kyoukai Senjou no Horizon (境界線上のホライゾン, Horizon on the Middle of Nowhere) was splited into two cours (two-quarter or half-year). The first cour (or season if you prefer) aired since October 2011, and the second cour will be around this July. Fans might have a difficult time to understand the relationship among characters, background settings and lots more. However, you have to admit, from whatever aspects, the series really stands out from the crowd.

If you happened to missed the series, you would definitely want to catch it back. If you are interested in the series, you can check out the character relationship on our Facebook Fan Page (first cour, second cour). And of course, we cannot fail to mention the original novel which you may not want to read due to the huge volume. Haganai OVA Announced

According to the official Twitter account of TV Anime series Boku wa Tomodachi ga Sukunai (Haganai, 僕は友達が少ない), an OVA of the series was announced and will be released on September 26th. The first season of the Anime ended last December leaving fans wondering whether there will be a second season. A collaboration project of Sekina Aoi’s (葵せきな) Seitokai no Ichizon (生徒会の一存, Student Council’s Discretion) and Yomi Hirasaka’s (平坂読) Haganai was announced early this year and more or less gave us hopes.

To reward fans who keep on reading until this point, let’s point out some of the good stuff that may attract the attentions of the rest. Early this year, in order to celebrate the 10 years anniversary of MF Bunko J (MF文庫J), there will be an event call Summer School Festival (夏の学園祭) on July 29th.

In the event, we have seen lots of familiar names in the guest list, including Kono Naka ni Hitori, Imouto ga Iru! (この中に1人、妹がいる！, lit. One of Them Is My Younger Sister!) which has its Anime announced earlier this year, wildly rumored Mayo Chiki! (まよチキ!) and of course, Haganai. We are expecting there might be some surprises during the events and you never know. Stay with us and we will keep you posted.

Zetsuen no Tempest TV Anime Announced

According to the cover of the June issue of Square Enix’s Monthly Shonen Gangan magazine, the TV Anime of Manga series Zetsuen no Tempest (絶園のテンペスト) was announced. Written by Kyou Shirodaira (城平京) and Arihide Sano (左有秀) and illustrated by Ren Saizaki (彩崎廉), the story revolves around Yoshino and his friend Mahiro who made a deal with a witch named Hakaze to hunt down the killers of his sister. Female may be happier than male about the story and setting since it sounds a bit Yaoi. The TV Anime appears to be aired since this Fall but we don’t have the confirmation so far. Stay tuned.

The story centers around Yoshino, an ordinary high school student with a mysterious friend named Mahiro. Mahiro made a deal with a witch named Hakaze to hunt down the killers of his parents and sister. Now Mahiro is missing, and Hakaze confronts Yoshino. Yoshino find himself involved in crisis that may doom the entire world. For more about the story, check out MAL (spoiler).

Rumor: Hayate no Gotoku New Anime in Second Half of 2012

The new Anime of TV Anime Hayate no Gotoku (Hayate the Combat Butler, ハヤテのごとく！) was confirmed in October last year, and since then, we’ve heard nothing from it again. Luckily, we heard about the release of the upcoming service pack (AM) of the Manga contains some related information about the date of the new Anime. According to the illustration of the Manga author Kenjiro Hata (畑健二郎), there will be “something” coming during the second half of 2012. The author did not reveal what the “something” is, but for folks who are used to these kind of ambiguous information can more or less infer that a new Anime of the series is coming around the corner.

The possibility is huge for this one despite the author’s interested in joking and playing with words. If the rumor turns out to be true, the new Anime should be the long waited third season though we cannot ignore the possibility of OVA or OAD. We will keep an eye on this.

Steins;Gate Movie (not) in Fall

According to the June issue of Shonen Ace magazine, the movie of TV Anime series Steins;Gate will be premiered in Fall. The confirmation of the movie was made last year right after the airing of the last episode of the TV Anime. We’ve talked about the whether the movie will be a recap of the TV Anime and luckily, the original author of the series confirmed it won’t. Also please refer to the update at the botton of the post for the corrected information about the movie date (not movie in this Fall).

Recommended Anime of April 2012

It has been a month since the airing of the new Anime this Spring, wonder how you like the series so far. At first glance, there are lots of nice series that you may wish to follow. Second thought, there are also many series you may just want to pass and it’s pure personal preference. Thus in this post, I will go though some of the most recommended and leaving the rest of them to be chosen by our readers.

Hyouka / 氷菓 (22 eps)

Hyouka was one of the last new series aired this April, but also my favorite of the whole season. Based on the original Japanese novel written by , the Anime is produced by Kyoto Animation and directed by . The story, as we can tell from the first two episodes, really stood out from the crowd, and you don’t need me to mention the quality of the series. Just try out the first episode and you will definitely fall in love with it.

Second season of the series, also another good series of the season which ranking at the top of our new Anime poll. The story developed quite slow in the first five episodes, leaving a question in the readers’ mind about what will happen, or what will happen to Kurisu, the Loli drinker. Though it’s a bit too hurry to ask, can we have a third season?

The original Manga of this new series released a while ago and we were happy to see the Anime adaptation quickly decided. In the story, we follow the angle of the other school Achiga Girlss Academy rather than Kiyosumi and even more happy to see the characters of the previous series showed up in the new Anime, as rival or last boss (Saki). The quality of the Anime is good as usual, and you can see lots of familiar names in the cast list.

Natsuiro Kiseki / 夏色キセキ (12 eps)

Was attracted by the cast list in the first place, and it seconded my assumption. Though the story is old and rusty, the character setting is ok and since I like Saki a lot, will keep on following the series, with or without the falling of the animation quality in the recent episodes.

Accel World / アクセル・ワールド (24 eps)

One of the best series of the season. If you are fans of western movies, consider the series as a combination of Matrix and Avatar (the term avatar also used in the series). The series probably has the most interesting looking male protagonist in the whole Anime industry, which more or less makes it stand out from the crowd. Of course, you cannot forget all the cute girls and of course, more are coming.

Kuroko no Basuke / 黒子のバスケ (13 eps)

Follow the series because of the female protagonist but it turned out to be a nice decision. The series is quite good and more or less reminds me of Slam Dunk during the old days though I am not a basket ball fan at all.

Nyaruko-san: Another Crawling Chaos / 這いよれ！ニャル子さん (12 eps)

You may not follow the series just because you watched the terrible flash version a while ago, but if you are a fan of the series, you may want to give the new Anime a try. It definitely better than the old one (though you cannot imagine there will be anything worse), the quality is acceptable and the story is fun and starts from the beginning. It’s a good try if you want some casual series, and not recommend you to watch when eating. Just to warn you about your SAN point (SAN値).

Shining Hearts ~Shiawase no Pan~ / シャイニング・ハーツ～幸せのパン～ (12 eps)

Am a big fan of the original game series and had fun play both Shining Hearts and Shining Blade. From a point of a player, the story of the Anime changes a lot and has three female protagonists is somehow not a good way at all, plus we don’t even know if they are our heroines because of Kaguya.

EUREKA SEVEN AO / エウレカセブンAO (24 eps)

The story continue with the previous season ended in 2005, and Ao, our male protagonist is no doubt the son of Eureka. The question is, who Ao’s father is? You may have some ideas in mind, but will Renton show up in the new Anime? It’s another point worth watching. Overall, the series has a really good quality and will be around for half an year. And if the rumor turns out to be true, we will have a new season of Darker than Black right after the ending of EUREKA SEVEN AO. But right now, let just enjoy one of the best show of the season.

Other Series

There are also some other nice series I am following, including the second season of Kimi to Boku (君と僕), Medaka Box (めだかボックス), Upotte!! (うぽって!!), Dusk maiden of Amnesia (黄昏乙女×アムネジア) and some of them are quite fun to watch, like Acchi Kocchi (あっちこっち). Of course, we cannot fail to mention the AKB0048 Anime and if you are a fan of AKB48, you may not want to miss it.
