Durarara!! – Real World vs Anime2

While surfing the web I found a youtube video that compares the real world Ikebukero from Durarara!! with the Anime Ikebukero. Even though it’s nothing new that an anime has real world resemblances, like in K-ON where they modelled the middle school. But I haven’t seen anything of this scale and detail though, the creators really took it up a level. Check it out on Youtube. The picture below is something I found very amusing.

Working!! – New Series0

Earlier this week I stumbled upon this Anime called Working!!. It’s planned to be released in April, however “Tokyo MX” did an early broadcast of the first episode. I downloaded it and watched it and I’ve got to say it has a pretty nice start, it’s on my ‘to watch’ list for the Spring season. It’s a comedy/slice-of-life series, and it takes place in a family restaurant.

Winter 2009–2010 and On-going Anime Review1

Kimi ni Todoke is an easygoing anime, it doesn’t add much originality to the love story. It has your basic ingredients for a high-school romance: a popular guy falls in love with a girl who’s not popular at all. The girl, Sawako, is your silent but kind girl, she loves to help others and doesn’t expect anything in return. The guy, Kazehaya, is your popular guy, wherever he goes he gets followed by friends. Whenever he joins an conversation the conversation gets a lot more fun. At first it might seem that Sawako is a really exaggerated character, at least that’s what I thought, but later on it definitely improves. The story might not seem too original, if you are into romance series either anime or soaps you might have seen something like this before. I had the very same feeling but I don’t know what it exactly is that drew me deeper into the story, it just happened and each episode makes me want the next.

January 2010 New Anime Guide1

It has been a great time enjoying watching the October Anime this year. Most of the series have ended this week and would love to write something about some of them. Back to the topic. There should be a lot of expectations on the Anime next year. Also there’re tons of great series this year and you will probably want to check them out:

Fate/stay night – UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS0

Finally the great masterpiece comes. The trailer has been put on Youtube. Will definitely love to see it will be on theater across the world. Forget my daydream and come to the movie part. As you can see the subtitle is UNLIMITED BLADE WORKS (UBW), which means the story of the second route of the Fate/stay night PC game will be put on the big screen. Guess lots of fans of the series, who have played or haven’t played the game, have already known what the story talks about. It’s good to see how Rin becomes the first heroine (sad to find out that the name of Kana Ueda (植田佳奈) was still listed after Ayako Kawasumi (川澄綾子) although both of them are my favorite CVs). Would love to bring more after the release of the movie.

Review: Kara no Kyoukai Movie 7 – Satsujin Kousatsu (Second)1

The movie of Anime Kara no Kyoukai finally comes to the last episode. The DVD of the last chapter Kara no Kyoukai Movie 7: Satsujin Kousatsu (Part 2) (劇場版 空の境界 第七章 殺人考察(後)) has just released recently and finally fans like us who don’t live in Japan have chances to enjoy this masterpiece. I’ve long been interested in TYPE-MOON’s works, especially the novel written by Kinoko Nasu (奈須 きのこ).

Breaking News: New Code Geass Project Announced1

It’s a shame that I didn’t noticed until today. It’s an official news, check it out here. And at the same time in the January issue of NewType which reveals that a new manga (Code Geass: Shikkoku no Renya (コードギアス漆黒の連夜)) of the series was announced. Not sure whether the manga has any relation with the coming new projects, but I sincerely hope that the project will an Anime instead of comic or novel. Some one interested in the comic would like to check out this site (JP) or ANN for more info.

Recommended Anime of October 20090

Before we go for the recommended Anime of October 2009, I’d like to talk about the overall performance of the Anime of the month. I was not interested in most of the Anime of the month in the first place, and then after quick view of the first episode of several Anime I realized that there did exist some nice ones. And it also appears that most of the Anime of the season have lots of cute girl characters.
