Kimi no Iru Machi OAD to be Release Spring 20127

According to ANN, Shonen Magazine announced the green-lit of Manga series Kimi no Iru Machi (君のいる町, A Town Where You Live) which will be released in a form of OAD in Spring 2012. Kimi no Iru Machi is a Manga series by Kouji Seo (瀬尾 公治). If you were familiar with the author, you can probably tell another Manga series that was adapted as Anime quite a while ago: Suzuka (涼風).

The Story

Kirishima Haruto is your average Hiroshima Prefecture countryside Japanese student that is about to start his 3 year High school life. But before that happens a girl from Tokyo, Eba Yuzuki, whose father is the friend of Haruto’s father, shows up at his house to live with him and his family so she can attend the same high school. Haruto isn’t happy of the situation; a stranger that happens to be a girl of his same age, not his relative, living in the same house like him will cause complications. Truth is Haruto has another girl in mind, Kanzaki Nanami, whom Haruto has hidden romantic feelings for since middle school. And so starts his complicated life. (via ANN)

Kimi no Iru Machi

The two series are quite similar to me, especially the plot and how the love triangle, or even the love quadrangle twisting with each other. Some fans put it the author makes a good example of analyzing the feeling of youth but it makes me feel tired. In the Anime of Suzuka, the relationship among the protagonists are quite simply but the author make them look complicated. Our male protagonist is a awful character than those in average Harem series, in terms of his ignorant and stupidity.

My impression of the TV Anime was so bad that I didn’t even want to read the Manga. And according to what I have heard, the male protagonist acts even worse in Manga series. May be the author just want to show some conflict among characters and unexpected events in the plot, but all of them look no good. Kouji is good at the illustration part, but not the story. If you do not have any passion for the cute female protagonists, you might drop it half way.

For the sake of folks who haven’t read the Manga, I would like to stop here. Enough for the negative comments, if you have read the Manga or watched the Anime, leave us some positive ones.

This is a late post. Ive just seen this OAD of "KNIM". First i agree with Chiisana Hikari as a fellow lover of art works of Seo. Ive read all published work of Seo and i can say that his illustrations are one of the best. Though the story sometimes shows voluptuous stupidity but it was shown in a humorous and funny way as possible. Regarding the OAD, I was shock by the whole episode It was like a 24 min. TRAILER, and you know what I really love it! The ODA has a kick with a wonderful animation and story. I hope that an anime of kimi no iru machi would be made.

wow !!! I have been readying this manga since I was in 7th grade (4years) !!!!! I am sooo happy that we can all enjoy it as a anime :D !

Hi i have read most of the manga to this one if its any good like the manga it will be a big hit its a way better read then Suzuka so i can wait to see it

Then I have a lot more confidences now. But I'd rather hope it would be a TV Anime instead of a few episodes of OAD.

Hi, I just read about the OAD for Kimi no Iru Machi and I have to say I'm jumping in joy and crying tears of happiness. It has been a long time since I started reading this manga and I have always waited for this day to come. For your comments I would like to express some my feelings. You said that Seo Kouji is god at illustrations but not at the story and I agree with you. Only on Suzuka, though. It's true that Suzuka is a manga that excels in illustration and overall artwork, but lacks in story, but you can't say the same about Kimi no Iru Machi. Suzuka was mainly about the relationship between the Protagonist and Suzuka, while pretty much ignoring everything else, thus making the story boring halfway through. This isn't the fact in Kimi no Iru Machi. The art is still as great as ever, maybe even better, but the story has changed. At first you could say that it seems just another Suzuka, but it has many diffener dimensions and it gives place to the supporting characters too. You could say that Seo Kouji has evolved from Illustrations to true romance manga. And now the thing with the male protagonist being "an awful person". I only have one question: What series were you reading? "Awful" would be the least describing word for Yamato and Haruto, since they are both funny, warm and kindhearted gyus. If I have to point out some bad points it would be their indecisiveness but c'mon, it's romance manga, being indecisive is a given. And now that I'm done with the manga, let's start on the anime. With this I have to say I agree with you to some point. The anime version of Suzuka failed to grasp the wonderful illustrations Seo Kouji that without them, the only thing left is the overblown story. But that doesn't make the manga bad. In fact, when I started reading Suzuka after finishing the anime, I was captured with the incredible artwork. I really hope Kimi no Iru Machi doesn't fall the same way like Suzuka did. If the animation and artwork is done properly, it could become one of the greatest anime series since Clannad. Although even without perfect art, the new kind of plot makes sure the anime will be enjoyable even without the beautiful illustrations. If the OAD get's good reviews, an anime series would be closer than ever. Let's just all hope Seo Kouji will succeed even better with Kimi no Iru Machi than she did with Suzuka!

That is a really long comment :) I have to say that I didn't read a lot of the Manga of either two series, and sometimes the original story really stands out a lot from it's Anime ones. And guess Suzuka is one of the cases. I would not very much worry about the artwork and quality of the Anime, but the media of OAD is a problem to me. I would much prefer a movie over either OAD or OVA of a long story like Kimi no Iru Machi.

hi :) i love this anime and i love you too
