Mirai Nikki Anime Confirmed, Coming October 20118

Folks who have read the Manga of the series Mirai Nikki (Future Diary, 未来日記) could easily get excited about the Anime adaptation. In fact there was an Anime for the series which was bundled with the limited edition of the 11th volume of the Manga as a “pilot Anime”. And recently it was confirmed by the official that the series is going to be aired in October 2011.

Mirai Nikki

It was really a great news to the fans of the series, especially for those who have watched the pilot anime and finally see the TV Anime coming. As for the Manga, there are total 11 volumes 59 chapters, so it could easily be made into an Anime around 24 episodes and please, do not compress it into a one season (13 episodes) series.

The plot: Yukiteru always rejected any offers to go with friends and just keeps writing a diary on his cell phone. He has what he believes is an imaginary friend called Deus Ex Machina. However, one day Deus asks him to play a survival game along with eleven others. The winner becomes the next Deus Ex Machina. In order to win, the contestants must use their diaries of the future to eliminate one another. For Yukiteru to survive, he must team up with another diary holder, a girl named Yuno.

Each player is assigned a number based on the order that Deus modified his or her diary. The diaries begin to record the future in the same manner their future selves would have written down events, with some even being able to influence the beings whose future they divulge to the owner; the only exception to this rule is when the holder reaches a Dead End, a time when their lives would be finished without significant intervention. Each diary varies in its properties and functions depending on the owner’s personality, occupation and lifestyle and they all have their shortcomings. The diaries can be used without the owner’s consent should they fall into another’s hands. Since the diaries are written from the perspective of the owner’s future self, the future can still be misinterpreted and thus the entries can become inaccurate. In addition to killing someone through normal means, if a diary is destroyed or broken, the owner also dies. (via Wikipedia)

Really like the series and can’t wait for the coming October! For those who haven’t known about the series, you may want to check out the official website of the Manga. News source via Saiani.

Good God, it's finally here, Mirai Nikki, can't wait to see how well the mood of the manga will be portrayed in the anime. Along with Alive:The final evolution, Mirai Nikki was one of the manga series I waited for patiently, I think the director of the anime will have to be careful about the fact that the manga is heavy on death and killing, which with censorship can really cut down the selling factor of the series, well anyway it comes out I'm a taker of the anime.

Hell to the yes! Finally

The manga itself it's interesting as well as the storyline, a phone that predicted future against the other phone holders, but I highly doubt that they would be able to get through all the chapter of Future Diary in 12 episode nor 24 episodes.

I think 24 will be fine if they compress the story a little bit or make it a two season one :)

So... Death Note + Eden of the East... Seems highly contrived from the synopses alone but I don't think a mash-up like that could be summarized any other way. Gotta say I am not even slightly interested so far, might drop a few minutes onto the pilot to see if my interest pick up thought.

To me the series won't be a easy one to watch and it's somehow quite similar to the heavy mood of Death Note. And it's about death, which generally receives heavy censorship along the way and won't be good to recommend to people under 18.

Interesting concept there for a manga to be animated into an animation. Somehow, it reminded me 'Eden of the East' with the phone and what they needed to do in order to win. I wonder how this will turn out once its release.

Nice idea about the phone thing. Both phones have great powers, one by technology and one from God :)
