No More 10,000 Free Tickets to Japan6

We mentioned back in October that the Japanese government would offer 10,000 free tickets to foreigners who want to travel to Japan. However, we also mentioned in the newsletter that project is still under “examination for government budgetary approval and is at this moment undecided”. Two months later, now, the plan was killed. The Japan Tourism Agency made an announcement on their official website that the project was not approved as a governmental draft budget of FY 2012.

No More 10,000 Free Tickets to Japan

Pity isn’t it? Not really for the government. Even though the project was rejected, the world did pay a lot of attention for the related news. The country is still under repair and guess they are simply not ready for this move. And I do believe the project planeted a seed in folks who just have a slight intention of visiting the country and they are more likely than not to travel to Japan in the future even without the free tickets. For the rest of us? Who don’t want to have a free seat?
