Recommended Anime of July 2015

Friends on web asked what’s my choice about series to follow this Summer, and now this is my list. Have to say we have some really interesting series this season, including some casual series that most folks could enjoy (and which is not included in this list). Series like Durarara!!×2 Ten (デュラララ!!x2 転), the final season (?) of WORKING!!!, Sore ga Seiyuu! (それが声優!) and so forth.

Joukamachi no Dandelion

Joukamachi no Dandelion / 城下町のダンデライオン

As most of us expected, this is quite an interesting series with loads of voice actors/actresses that most of us are familiar with. The story is casual and filled with daily life episodes, and of course fan services.

Gate: Jieitai Kanochi nite, Kaku Tatakeri

Heard of lots of debates on the web about the show but personally I am quite into it. The story starts with quite some violence and for folks who are not so sure they want something to do with it, you might just want to skip to the next title in this list. With politics mixed in the feeling of both the fans and author, the moral standard get even more realistic in later chapter of the novel. Except all of these, the Anime itself is quite good and we have lots of fans services around, as well as a serious story.

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai

Shimoneta to Iu Gainen ga Sonzai Shinai Taikutsu na Sekai / 下ネタという概念が存在しない退屈な世界 (12EP)

Probably I should mention that the series is something NSFW, both wording and screening, and you are warned. This story, as the title indicates, is about a world without dirty jokes, and thus of course, the plot should be filled with those jokes. The series in this case is quite similar to Seitokai Yakuindomo (生徒会役員共), another highly advanced dirty jokes series most of our readers love, and of course “dirtier” than you imagine.

Charlotte / シャーロット

Latest work from Key, and most of you should’ve heard of it. The story is a bit Angel Beats! style, with a really aggressive start that people somehow difficult to picture the whole story from the beginning. Later on, we started to like it, the characters are of interesting personality and the story is unique. It’s definitely worth a try.

If you have played the original game, this could be something different than your expectation. The male protagonist is quite different from the game and you might somehow get disappointed in the first few episodes. Stays on, even you do not like his hair style or the way he talks. The story gets more interesting later on, when boy meets girl, and our female protagonist finally add some value to the story. The fight scene is also something worth talking about and you might just want to keep on watching.

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime

Akagami no Shirayuki-hime / 赤髪の白雪姫

Well, if the character design or animation itself is not your type, maybe the story will catch your attention. With a title similar to what you have learned in your childhood, you might assume this is a series about a girl and a prince, and poison apples. Well half and half. It’s about a red hair girl named Shirayuki (Snow White) and her way as a court doctor to her prince. It’s interesting and inspiring, what might be lost in recent series.

Gakkou Gurashi!

Gakkou Gurashi! / がっこうぐらし!

This is the most unexpected series of the season. Guess most fans who haven’t read the original Manga will agree with me. To stop the spoiler, we will stop here. It might scare you in the first episode, especially when you watch it the first time.

Kangoku Gakuen

Kangoku Gakuen / 監獄学園

This could be the most expected series of the season. Fans are crazy about the animation, and the holy white light if you know what I mean. This is a NSFW series and you should be aware there are some really not safe scene for young friends. But it’s interesting and totally fun, in a bad way.

Rokka no Yuusha

Rokka no Yuusha / 六花の勇者

This turns out to be one of my personal favorite, most because of our beautiful female protagonist Fremy, the Braves Killer who ended up met six other Braves of Six Flowers, when there are only intended to be six of them. The story is full of surprises, and if you have watched the original light novel, you might get a feeling of being blew by the author every time a new volume was out. It’s surprising interesting, and romantic if you have learned a bit about the story. Highly recommended.
