Review: To Aru Majutsu no Index – Episode 3+40

Index was badly hurt by Kanzaki in the previous episode. Toma tried his best to beat Stiyl and carry Index back to his teacher Komoe’s department. In the series, magic cannot be used by those who has psychic abilities, like Toma and the students in the city. Therefore, Toma came to his teacher who do not have the ability to use those spectacular powers.

Toma’s teacher Komoe, who looks like a kindergarden girl, is actually above 20. (I assume…) Despite her wearing pink pajama with rabbit hear, she smokes and drinks a lot which destroy many otakus’ dreams…And it occurred to me that most of the heroines in the series are LOLIs! Index, Komoe, Mikoto and her younger sister are all LOLIs! Probably because the author of the original novel like LOLI…

Back to the story, Index uses the magic circle and some “strange” stuffs to create a temple to summon angel to cure her wounds.

And, it looks like the angel, which is not really an angel but some kind of Komoe’s imagination, really appears.

This is the end of the third episode. In the last scene, Toma meets Kanzaki, another magican after Index.

Voiced by Shizuka Ito, Kanzaki’s really a cool girl. Well, I admit I like this type of girls.

I will not say this is a battle since both Toma and Kanzaki have no intention of fighting with each other. Kanzaki tells Toma the reason she after Index.

85% of Index’s memory space is used to remember all the 10,3000 magical texts, and the remaining 15% to use in daily activities, which allows her to live normally for less than a year.However, Index has to be “reset” her memory after one year or else she will die. And all this is the reason Stiyl and Kanzaki are looking for Index. What they want to do is only to protect Index. Since Index has already forget them due to the reset of memory, Index misunderstands Stiyl and Kanzaki and treats them as evil magacians who want the magical texts inside her head/memory.

Toma was seriously injured by Kanzaki, and this is one way to keep Index staying. After 3 days, them come. The next episode is about the reset of memory. What will happen to Index and what can Toma do to help her? One thing more, where’s my favorite Mikoto? She seems missing for most of the episode and this really hurts!
