Ask the Commenters: What Will be Seikaisha’s Next Big Project?

The second season of TV Anime Fate/Zero will be ended on June 23rd in the coming month. No doubt it is one of the best series of the season, and we are more or less want more from either the producer or the author, aka, the TYPE-MOON. Recently, we heard from the official Twitter account of the COO of Seikaisha (星海社), the publisher of the novel of Fate/Zero, informing the fans to keep an eye on the TVCM of the publisher on the same day and explicitly specifying that an amazing new project is coming. Of course, we will keep our reader posted and get back to this upon new information. At the meanwhile, we are more or less interesting in what this big project will be and let’s spend a bit time discussing the topic as the COO suggested.

Ask the Commenters: What Will be Seikaishas Next Big Project?

Having said that, if you are not familiar with the publisher, especially if you are not living in Japan or cannot read Japanese, it might be a bit difficult to draw a proper assumption. Luckily, the publisher was founded around two years aga in 2010 solely by Kodansha (講談社), Seikaisha so far has published only several but really well-known novels, including but not limited to Fate/Zero and Higurashi no Naku Koro ni (ひぐらしのなく頃に, Higurashi When They Cry). We are expecting the new project has something to do with TYPE-MOON, but it could also turn out to be something totally different. So when scanning the publisher’s repository, we found some really interesting candidates.

A light novel titled Tsuki no Sango (月の珊瑚, Coral of the Moon) written by Kinoko Nasu (奈須 きのこ). Well not really a light novel, it’s a short story written for Maaya Sakamoto‘s (坂本真綾) Full Moon Recital Hall, a project organized by the Seikaisha’s online magazine Saizensen (最前線), that consisted of Maaya reading short novels in a theater while an accompanying short animation was aired in the background. You can take a preview on Youtube, with subs, or read more on Wikia about the story.

Another movie of Fate/stay night. Well, I think this is a nice guess since the COO mentioned the word “amazing” (すごい in Japanese). Nowadays, a simple TV Anime might not be classified into this category but a movie or a set of movies might be. Based on the fact that both of the routes of Fate/stay night were animated, leaving the last route Heaven’s Feel (Sakura) untouched. So why not make a movie for it, or it could be some other Fate series like Fate/hollow ataraxia.

Of course, we cannot fail to mention Mahoutsukai no Yoru (魔法使いの夜, Witch on the Holy Night), the latest masterpiece from TYPE-MOON. I would say a Anime is of course on the way but judging the fact the series has three parts and only the first part was released with a four-year delay, I won’t take too much into this. But it could be a series of movies like Kara no Kyoukai.

Well, there could also be loads of other assumptions and they might have nothing to do with TYPE-MOON, or even Anime. Share your thoughts and let us know what do you think.
