Shining Hearts TV Anime to be Aired April 2012

According to the official website and also the Bushiroad Strategic Presentation 2011 event announced on Wednesday, a TV Anime adaptation of SEGA’s PSP RPG series Shining Hearts (シャイニング・ハーツ) was announced and will be aired in next Spring, April 2012 by Production I.G. If you are a fan of the Shining series, you probably have already learned about the news since early last month when the rumor about an Anime production of Shining Blade x Hearts arrived. Instead of a combination of Shining Hearts and the upcoming game Shining Blades like the previous Shining Tears X Wind (シャイニング·ティアーズ·クロス·ウィンド), it appears that the producer choose to only produce Shining Hearts.

Shining Hearts TV Anime to be Aired April 2012

As for the cast, it appears that our female protagonists will be three people backed by three different actresses instead of only one chosen by the player in the PSP game. We have Hiroshi Kamiya as Rick, Kanae Itou as Amil, Mai Aizawa as Neris, Shiori Mikami as Airy. If you have already played the PSP game, you may miss the voice of Kanae Itou as Neris who I assume would choose as the heroine, just like me. I wrote a review of the PSP game Shining Hearts early this year, if you are interested in finding out how the game looks like, feel free to check it out. Also I made a little wish in the review post that an Anime could be produced. Guess my wish just came true.

As for the plot of the game, there is nothing to say since guess most of us just enjoy the beautiful character design by Tony Taka. And personally quite expect the upcoming PSP game series Shining Blade next Spring, though it has identical characters as Shining Hearts but with a much better battle system, and finally we will be able to interact more with Maxima and Hayane. If you have already played the game of Shining Hearts, you would know what I mean.

Plot summary: One day, a mysterious girl named Kaguya was washed ashore the island of Wyndaria after a great storm. She encounters Rick, a swordsman who wound up working at the island’s bakery. Apparently, Kaguya is suffering from having lost her memories and emotions. In addition, the usually peaceful Wyndaria is now swarming with pirates who came seeking for the special spirit stone that is worn around Kaguya’s neck. Knowing the situation, Rick and his co-workers, Nellis, Amyl, and Aerie decided to bring back peace to island and help Kaguya regain her lost memories and emotions.
