Skip Beat! Ends, 2nd Season Confirmed?162

My favorite Skip Beat! ended recently at episode 25 though I thought it would last about 50 epside before. We don’t need to be sad since at the same time the Manga still continues and though no official news was announced we all know that the 2nd season is sure to come. In this post I’d like to make some review which I haven’t done for quite a long time and discuss something about the 2nd season.

The second half of the first season of Skip Beat! mainly talks about Kyoko’s joining in the production of a TV drama Dark Moon, and the story about this TV drama will last, I think, until the end of the second season. Fans like me who have already read the manga will confirm what I’ve just said and we will some story happens after the Dark Moon period if there will be 3rd season ^^

Itsumi Momose (百瀬 逸美), age 17, is a popular new actress, playing the role of “Mizuki”, the heroine in Dark Moon. To be frankly I didn’t think she is a good character in the first place but later was proved to be wrong. Since I’ve already read the Manga I’m now really like her characteristics.

The imagine wrestling match. I was wondering how Kyoko’s feeling toward Ren and the relationship between them. I think Kyoko’s feeling is built upon respect and admire, but what about Ren? This is truly interesting relation.

After hearing what Itsumi thought about Ren’s unreasonable performance, Kyoko was very upset.

I don’t understand why Ren doesn’t allow himself to love Kyoko. The mange does tell us some reasons but I was really confused from time to time.

Kyoko found Yashiro to ask for the schedule of Ren. But in return to this favour, Yashiro asked Kyoko to stay with Ren for dinner and thought this would help Ren from getting disappoint.

Interesting expression on Yashiro’s face when he was imaging what expression will show on Ren’s face when he found that Kyoko came to his apartment. But sadly Yashiro found out that Ren would not show his happiness on his face and would continue to treat Kyoko as air. Yes, Yashiro was right.

Ren is showing his “kindness smile” to Kyoko. To me, this expression is something like a shy boy tries to cover the true feeling of himself from getting known by the girl he love.

When they were having dinner Kyoko turned on the TV and found that it was broadcasting some couple entertainment programe. During Kyoko and Ren’s conversation, finally, Ren realized something, something about his feeling towards Kyoko. Again, Ren is a very stubborn.

These are typical behaviors of a boy falling in love with a girl. Emm…Ren’s now 20 and Kyoko is 16 which according to Kyoko herself, the very age of a woman to get married.

I think the best line of the coming 2nd season will be the triangle love relationship among Kyoko, Ren and Sho. So far I didn’t see the coming rock band VG but it will sure appear in the coming season.

    It as been a long time, but i still have hope, i still want to fill my heart beat everytime ren and kyoko are together, see ren pull off a really good katsuki, because of its love whit kyoko, and see the transformations, that kyoto is going to sufer along the way. If she is ever going to find out by her sefl that ren is in love, or if is sho going to blurr that in her face. is she going to forget the revenge. its so many stuff :D

    It seams to be confirmed on the net, 2nd season of skip beat will be out in japan on october 2009. we just have to wait if this time is for real.

    Its seams to be spreading trought out yahoo groups, the news of the second season. I hope its real this time. I have send an email to the manganews director, but i don’t think he is going to reply, but it was worth a try :D , to see if he could find some news.

    Yea, i heard that the season is suppose to start in october. the producers want the manga to be really far along so that the anime won’t catch up to it, in order to prevent filler episodes…LET’S HOPE IT’S TRUE!

    The first season went till 67 manga chapter correct??? meaning the second season will go up to the 120, 130 manga chapter???? what do you think.

    Tehy are releasing 2 manga episodes for month, that means we are now on the 142, and by october it will be by the number 150, if the anime is realease by the end of october, than means the mange is going to be like 20 or so episodes in front. That's not much. Maybe the manga will start to come out like in the begining, i think it was once a weak a new manga, but i'm not sure.

      I'm not sure about the story of the coming season but it should be finished around the birthday of Kyoko. Skip Beat! is a long story and I haven't seen any sign of ending in the coming five year :)

    The anime ended right before my absolutey favorite part in the manga…
    I was so sad/confused whne I discovered that it ended at such an unclimatic point!

    there is another turning pint on the manga that i think is ideal for a end of season, the end of the kuu, kyoro and ren episode, i think that image of them both going for new things is great for keeping people gessing and for a season turn, because after that is start the natsu even. But i don't know if there is enought episodes till then for anime.

    i'm not sure, how the anime/manga episodes work, if the anime takes 2 or 3 manga episodes, or how does it really works. If they keep up whit a second season of 25 episodes like the first it may work, but i think 25 is a small number. but since the manga as a lot going on, maybe is the best.

    I've heard a few rumors that Skip Beat season two will come out on Octobor! But to remind you it was just a stupid rumor so it might not happen. If I had a straight answer I would tell you guys but appearently I don't… T.T Which totally sucks hardcore…

    yah i think there is skip beat season 2..i REALLY like that anime and i thought skip beat is all about dance oh well im wrong its all about drama and when it ended at episode 25 it says next stage is………so i think there is season 2 hmmph i hope at season 2 kyoyko's hair will be long bcoz i dont like her short hair.

    The manga of Skip Beat is so much more fulfilling. It develops the relationships between the characters much more and has more content to it, which is why I enjoy it more. I guess it depends on the level of your enjoyment in reading or watching. But I personally enjoy the manga more. Thanks for the overview, though.

      I like the Manga too. Sometimes the negative point of reading the Manga ahead of the broadcast of the Anime is the leak of the plot. But anyway I have read the latest episode and cannot wait for the release of the Anime. Will write a post upon confirming.

      That’s because there is no second season of Skip beat at the moment.
      There hasn’t been any official statements yet as to when or if there will be a second season.

    Just rewatched it for the 17th time (counted) WHERE THE HELL IS THE 2ND SEASON I’M DYING HERE!!!! Kyoko needs to know that Ren is Corn and they need to kiss!!! Sho can just die….. ^.^ yes lets make that happen….hehehehe (Kyoko Dark mode)!

    ok guys ive watched skip beat and it was an amazing anime i havent yet got to read the manga i have only read volume 1,but the way the season ended made me really mad.there is still plenty of storyline for them to make a ending to a series that derserves a good ending because it was a great anime one of the best. **************** im not trying to be mean guys but if you dont actually have the facts about there be a second season truefully then dont say eanything because it just gets are hopes up .further more how could they end such a great anime with a ending that made us upset.and if they make another season they would make alot of money ,i dont even no why they would end such a great anime like that ,if they keep on doing this to all the animes there going to lose alot of anime fans out there.sence skip beat was on my top 5 anime it really pises me off that they did that to us … just hang in there guys and pray the rumors about a second season is true if u guys find out eany info on a 2nd season let us no thanks love ya !!!

    I’ve been reading all your comments and I wish there was a second season two, but I don’t think there will be. However, I know that the Anime Inuyasha ended badly at first but about 3 or 4 yrs. later they finished,but that was only the Manga had finally finished. I’m not saying give up hope, but dwelling on it isn’t going to help any it will only be more depressing. I’d read the manga to find out what happens. I suggest that you call the company that put out the english version with sub titles which is Viz Media I believe call or e-mail them and ask. That’s my suggestions.

    I don’t really care what they will show in the 2nd season as long as there is one.
    But I don’t really agree fully with your suggestions of what is going to be in this next season. When you look at the range of manga chapters that were in the 1st season then there were 70 chapters or less…something like that. They did not show mokos-arc of course but I would say it just could take 2 episodes in an anime. So we have lot of space for the VG and Sho story. But when you look at the manga chapters they only last until chapter 105. I now because I’m a freak enough to read this manga again and again and only my fav arcs and again…..
    So that and the fact that the anime production cuts and makes changes in the maga storyline. That would make a total of…lets say 45 chapters in manga and 2/3 of an anime. So that we still have time to go….at least I hope that. What comes next after Dark Moon? YES it will be Kyoko and Kuu Hizuri!! Maybe the end of the 2nd season will be Kyoko realising that she has to do her best, experiencing her own abilitys and that she will show everyone what she has got…or whatever she said when Kuu went. So at least we will have 3 arcs in this season. All I believe what they are doing now is the fact of giving Nakamura-sensei time. She already did that Manga since when? 2001? 60-70 chapters – that whole work of years was wrapped up in 25 episodes. Lets wait for the taiwanese drama version, rather than the 2nd season *sigh*

    This anime have been 3 years which I watch half-way and got very ill due to sickness. But after I got well I totally forgot about this anime and Now 17 April 2011 start watching and finish on 20 April 2011 all 25 episodes and I see in wiki The next expected episode is named, “The End.” Is it an OVA??     I don’t mean to lower peoples hopes but its been like 2-3 years since the first season. yes i would be so happy if this was true since i wanted to see more of skip beat. but there is a likely chance if another season comes out it still wont have enough episodes to get to rin’s and Kyoto’s relationship.

    Bleh, I just finished watching Skip Beat! It’s one of the best romantic comedies that I’ve seen before, and I’m really disappointed that they ended so abruptly. Let’s hope that they’re just waiting for the manga to end or something. :D I’ve been checking all of the anime lineups for the fall and winter, but unfortunately I haven’t seen anything. This is a rather surprising end to such a potentially successful anime like Skip Beat! I really hope that they have plans to continue the anime. But for now, I shall turn to the manga. :D

    Even if I turn 100 I think I would watch season 2 because I lobe this anime so much. The reason why it’s taking so long because the mangaka publishes about four or five chapters a month, one manga a month, or so. For now, no matter how blood thirsty we are for a second season, we’ll just have to be patient and support the mangaka. I hope the manga/ anime lasts a long time, because there’s not many good anime/manga out there anymore after you’ve been reading/watching them for as long as I have…

    Its so frustrating, but exciting, the anime has stopped, for now, and i’m waiting for new updated episodes for the manga….. ): I’ve been so anxious for Act 183…. I just can’t wait…. I hope that they do keep continuing with anime series as well as the manga!!!!!!!

    Guys, unfortunately Season 2 of Skip Beat! will not be release. I was told that Skip Beat! was a night time anime series that did not gain a lot of attention from Japan viewers. Because of that, the likelihood of another season is nearly nonexistent, and having seen how much time has passed by since the end of the 1st Season, this proves yet again my point. For an anime to be successful it mush be famous in Japan, so in reality other countries don’t have a say on the matter.
