There are series of all kinds out there and some of them are sad while some of them are happy forever and ever. In this post, instead of discussing the best Anime series that you have ever watched, I would like to share with you the most touching one that I have ever watched.

Guess you probably would like to mention AIR, Kanon and CLANNAD if you are a Key fan. Yes, those series are sad and story are touching but to me, the most touching Anime I have ever watched is Chrono Crusade (クロノ クルセイド). Guess some of you may not know about the series so I would like to give it a little bit introduction.

Chrono Crusade is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Daisuke Moriyama (森山大輔). The TV Anime was aired between 2003 and 2004 for a total of 24 episodes. The story sets in the United States during the 1920s, Chrono Crusade follows the story of Rosette Christopher, and her demon partner Chrono. As members of the Magdalene Order, they travel around the country eliminating demonic threats to society, while Rosette searches for her lost brother Joshua (via Wikipedia).

The ending is sad, yet touching, so as the story. The story was well written, the relationship between Rosette and Chrono is so touching that they held each others hands and closed their eyes in the last episode of the Anime. So, I was in tears and even now, when I am listening to the ending theme of the series Sayonara Solitia (さよならソリティア) while writing this post, I am touched and always, is the song one of my favorite, so as the series.

I am thinking of coming up a review of the whole series but I am just afraid to watch it again. The story itself is great and in the first part of the Anime, you can casually enjoy all the nice fighting scenes and comedy. But when it moves further, you can feel something in your heart that is telling you, please, don’t. Chrono is a demon, and he fights to protect Rosette and everything they care, with a cost of using up Rosette’s life. It’s so cruel. Yet the fate is against them and making them separate from each other. Some advices to those who want to watch this series after reading this post, please make sure you can control your feeling well since you will be sad for a few weeks after you finish watching the TV Anime of the series. (Haven’t read the original Manga but I do know that the Manga has a totally different ending.)

If you are careful enough, you may find that the voicer behind our female protagonist Rosette Christopher (ロゼット・クリストファ) is Tomoko Kawakami (川上 とも子) who has just passed away early this month. So, I miss them both.

Guess that is what I want to say about the most touching Anime. I’d better stop here before continue to tell how I was touched again and again (let’s schedule a review post ahead). And now, it’s time to share your ideas and tell us what is the most touching/saddest story you have ever watched.

Related posts:

Yuki Kajiura (梶浦由記) and sang by Saeko Chiba (千葉 紗子), the track was firstly used by as the ending track of Anime Chrono Crusade (クロノ クルセイド), one of my favorite Anime series. Moved by the ending the Anime, wondering how many of you actually cried after finish watching the series.

<a
