Tons of new Anime were released in January. Guess folks have watched some of them. Indeed most of the series are good enough to follow this month. Some news have released about the coming April Anime release and we will bring some of them to you in the following months. And here start the recommendation.

Baka to Test to Shoukanjuu / バカとテストと召喚獣 (13 episodes)

One of the best among all the release of January. Supported by the great novel, the Anime is much better than I have expected. The story is quite fun and the Baka male protagonist is quite unique compared with other male characters of other Anime. In all, thirteen episodes are not enough for us.

Ladies versus Butlers! / れでぃ×ばと！ (12 episodes)

This is an absolutely NSFW series. The male protagonist is quite different from other series of this kind and it impressed me the first time. The story is interesting and the relation among the main three characters is well designed. What’s more, you can never tired of enjoy Saabisu (サービス) scenes.

So Ra No Wo To / ソ・ラ・ノ・ヲ・ト (12 episodes)

First thing came to my mind about this series. A second season of Anime K-ON!? Yes, actually the second season of K-ON! is confirmed but the series we are talking about has nothing to do with music (well, yes, it does have something to do with music). The character design is slightly better compared with K-ON! You would like to try the series out if you like Anime has only female characters

Hanamaru Kindergarten / はなまる幼稚園 (12 episodes)

This is a unique series of the month. If you are tired of Anime full of beautiful girls and Saabisu, you will like to try this one out. The story is about daily life of three little girls in the Kindergarten. Kind of like the child version of Minami-Ke (みなみけ).

Omamori Himari / おまもりひまり (12 episodes)

Actually the series is way below my expectation. The character design is way worse than the manga and the male protagonist is way stupid than expected. So normally the only way to enjoy series like this is either listen to the voices and ignore every movements and speech made by the male protagonist. And things left are beautiful girls. Anyway, the manga of the series is recommended.

So Ra No Wo To / ソ・ラ・ノ・ヲ・ト (12 episodes)

The story is set in the future on a land that, after being marred by long-lasting wars, has settled into quiet decline. Model and actress Juri Aikawa will play Kanata Kumika, a 15-year-old girl who fulfills her dream of enlisting in the army and joins a unit of five girls who protect a fortress. The girls also play music that reverberate across the skies over towns without people and seas without fish. ASCII MediaWorks’ Monthly Comic Dengeki Daioh magazine will launch a manga version of the story this winter. (via ANN)

The school romantic comedy revolves around Akiharu Hino (Kazuyuki Okitsu), an ordinary high school student who unfortunately looks like a juvenile delinquent. He enrolls into an academy that was once a school for upper-class ladies, and he is placed in the school’s newly established servant training department. The students there are raised to be either maids or butlers, and Akiharu finds himself in the middle of the bickering cliques. (via ANN)

Guest this will be the hottest Anime among the January release. Let’s wait and see. To those have read the novel, here’s the brief intro:

The story centers around Akihisa Yoshii, the “baka” of the title. His academy rigidly divides up the student body into classes based on the results of tests. The prodigies
are in the A class with reclining seats complete with air conditioning
, but Akihisa is in F class, the lowest rung of the school ladder which is furnished only with low, decrepit tables and worn-out straw tatami mats.

A smart girl named Mizuki Himeji had a fever on test day and was pigeonholed into the F class. Besides Mizuki, the F class also has Yūji Sakamoto, the class president who has been Akihisa’s partner-in-crime since the freshman year. The school happens to have developed experiments to summon fantasy creatures, and Akihisa decides to rally F class to take on the higher-tiered classes and seize their perks. The F class uses the summoned creatures in an all-out battle for school supremacy. (via ANN)

Ryuugamine Mikado is a boy who longs for the exciting life of the big city. At the invitation of his childhood friend Masaomi, he transfers to a school in Ikebukuro. Masaomi has warned him about people he doesn’t want to cross in the city: a champion fighter, an informant, and a mysterious gang called “Darazu.” Nervous from Masaomi’s stories, Mikado witnesses an urban legend on his first day in the city, the Headless Rider astride a black motorcycle. From then on, the existence of supernatural cases and a gang called the Yellow Turbans will rise to the surface, and Ikebukuro will pushed to the breaking point. (via ANN)

Ookamikakushi / おおかみかくし (12 episodes)

The plot focuses around 10 different stories that are closely related. However, other than that, not much details had been released as of yet, although those who are playing the game would have a clearer idea on how the story would be.

Like the previous few works that Ryukishi07 had done, we can probably expect the same kind of genre that we had seen from Higurashi and Umineko. Ryukishi07, after all, is famous for all of these anyway. (via NotCliche)

Hanamaru Kindergarten follows the wild and very cute antics of preschooler Anzu-chan and her friends, the shy Koume-chan and the eccentric Hii-chan who loves cosplay. Anzu’s got a crush on her teacher, Tsuchida-sensei (a Nintendo DS fan), but he’s much more interested in the very well proportioned Yamamoto-sensei of the class next door. (via Japanator)

The slapstick romantic comedy centers around an ordinary 16-year-old high school boy named Yūto Amakawa who is protected by a spirit — specifically, a beautiful, sword-wielding cat girl spirit named Himari. Yūto is descended from a family that has subjugated demons since time immemorial. The charm that once protected him is now impotent, but fortunately, at that same moment, Himari appears before him as his new guardian. (via ANN)

Seikon no Qwaser / 聖痕のクェイサー (24 episodes)

The story takes place on the grounds of St. Mihailov Academy, a Japanese Eastern Orthodox school, and draws heavily on religious references from the aforementioned religion. Here it follows the trials and hardship of two of its students, Oribe Mafuyu and Tomo Yamanobe, until the encounter with a mysterious, silver-haired, Russian boy named Alexander, or Sasha for short. This puts them and the whole school in an all-out war between the Church itself and the so-called “Adepts”, a sect of individuals wielding powers linked to the elements of chemistry. Though based on the common magical girl concept shown in series such as Sailor Moon, the story diverges in depicting extreme acts of bloodshed, brutality and perversion, and also makes heavy use of fanservice. Nodame Cantabile: Finale / のだめカンタービレ フィナーレ (11 episodes)

Final season of the series. I didn’t watched the previous two seasons of the Anime (Japanese drama instead). Would like to catch up with it.

At a top music academy in Japan, Shinichi Chiaki’s arrogance is matched only by his top-notch piano playing. But when Chiaki and the teacher get into a fight, he’s demoted to the reject class. Chiaki is left to pursue his dream of being a composer while surrounded by a bunch of loser musicians and one annoying girl, Noda, who has proclaimed herself Chiaki’s girlfriend. It doesn’t help that Noda, who insists on being called Nodame, lives right next door to him. (via ANN)
