Recently my Mac became weird after some minutes of starting up. The finder did not response and files in the HD corrupted from time to time. It caused me quite a while to notice the problem. Guess since the upgrading to the latest version of 10.6.4 of the Mac OS X.  Just put my Mac to the factory yesterday and the staff gave me a note today that there are some problems with the HD and would ask for the replacement from Apple. My guess, the HD toasted. I should have noticed for a while but luckily I have the expense covered since it’s still within the warranty. The bad thing is that I will have to work on my old PC laptop which runs XP splendidly for a week before my Mac return unharmed. Still need a while to get used to the XP since the font looks extremely ugly on it. Will consider enable Clear Type later but it’s a pain to update my blog on it

Anyway I have been using my old VAIO for about four years where the very first version of TheAkiba was built. There was a peak period when TheAkiba hits 100,000 according to Alexa and guess what I need to do now is create a better era

It’s a great season. Has been busy watching World Cup these days and the site lacks updates for a while. I did played Wining Eleven a lot on PlayStation2 but seldom watched soccer matches on TV. The World Cup is something special and fun. Good to follow. Another thing in mind, TheAkiba was on Facebook for a while and the short URL of the page is available from now. Second thing reminded me of coming back to China is the control of media. The first time I opened out the site and found that there’s a big blank area in the sidebar. Thought for a while and came to the conclusion. Yes, Facebook has been blocked for a long time (since born?) And the same conclusion came to Twitter (and even Tweetmeme). Not sure about the inner function of the Facebook and twitter social media buttons but they should render the beauty of API. Guess even API was blocked in this area (can API be blocked?). That’s actually a good thing which reminded me the beauty of localization. Guess more time has to be spent on exploring how to provide different contents/templates according to areas. Will be the next MUST in the list.

Long time since the last post of the series. Tons of awesome pics came from different sources and still got a problem in sort them out. Nice illustration by Mikeou (みけおう, Circle name: PINK CHUCHU).

Updated WordPress to the latest version 2.8.5 but it seemed to have some problem with the memory limit of images. Still trying to figure out the problem but it appears to be on the server side. Will look into the problem.

Just came back from the 3 days trip (actually a test and an interview) to Xiamen, an island city in Fujian province of China. The city is a combination of past and now, old and new. Lots of buildings are under construction and many old houses are being removed. Used to love traveling but had few time.

Another thing to mention, as you may know that TheAkiba was suffering from high usage of server CPU. We are all right now. The CPU usage is low and the site is back to normal! Thanks to all those who give suggestions and help to us, cheers!

Long time since the previous post of this series. After optimization the site is back to normal though some projects were dropped. Among one of them is the Gallery, guess some of you might miss it. Using Gallery2 on a shared server is not a good idea that I didn’t realize until then. But there’re lots of good pics and scans sites out there. Guess I’ll have more time for the V3 project.

You can see clearly that this is not a lingerie shot but a Kimono and Pantsu shot. The character of the scan is Sonsaku Hakufu, from the Anime Ikki Tousen (Battle Vixens, 一騎当千, literally “a lone rider with the strength to withstand a thousand”). Illustrated by Jin Happoubi (八宝備仁).

Lots of Anime are coming next month. Will bring some in a few days.

Long time since the previous post of the series. Basically busying working on the paper of the school and I’m now ready to start the new theme in a few days. Some friends mentioned a galgame named Stellar Theater and asked for information. As far as I know, the game has released but since it’s illustrated by Hiro Suzuhira, there’s a fame. Will bring something about this topic later. And here’s a nice scan of Seia Kanou (狩野 星亜), a heroine of the galgame Stellar Theater. Of course, it is illustrated by Hiro Suzuhira.
