Minami-ke 4th Season Confirmed!!

Finally, our wish came true. We’ve talked about the rumor regarding the fourth season of TV Anime series Minami-ke last year, and later a new Anime adaptation was confirmed, leaving us the speculation whether it would be a OVA/OAD or a new season. Today, according to the Manga page below, we’ve confirmed that the new Anime adaptation is a 4th season of the series! However, the confirmation of a new season was firstly brought to us by the Drama CD which we somehow missed (yet no other sources have confirmed the news until today). Anyway, it was a long wait. However, the date of the release has not yet being announced and the scan also indicates more information about the new season won’t come until later. For sure, we will keep you posted.

Finally, Minami-ke New Anime Announced

Do you still remember what I have mentioned back in July this year? If you recall, you will probably be quite happy with the following news. We firstly mentioned the rumor back in Summer, which indicated that a new project of Minami-Ke (みなみけ, lit. The Minami Family) is in the process and will be unveiled this Fall, probably. And according to the bonus track of the 9th volume of Character Song CD which released yesterday, a new Anime of Minami-ke was announced. With the original Manga written by Koharu Sakuraba (桜場コハル), Minami-ke is a interesting series revolves around the daily life of three sisters: Haruka, Kana, and Chiaki.

The news was brought by the cast staffs during the talk of CD. ANN has it translated as below:

By the way, Chiaki, it seems like Minami-ke will be animated again.
I heard that, too. Congratulations! Haruka-neesama.
You, too. Chiaki. We’ll do our best again.
Yes, oneesama. Let’s do our best.
Why did you say that? I wanted to say that Minami-ke would be animated and give congratulations. I should have been the one to announce that.

We used to do OAV before.
[…]
I hope that this will be on television.
[…]
And now, we’re out of time.
Look forward to the Minami-ke anime, you guys.
We’ll give you details some other time.
Don’t expect too much.

At this point, we still don’t know whether it will be a forth season but from the conversation above, the possibility is extremely high. And we do hope what they said is true, and it appears that it always does. So, stay tuned and we will bring more updates on the confirmation and follow-up news.

Rumor: Minami-Ke 4th Season Coming?

On the latest issue 33rd of Young Magazine (週刊ヤングマガジン) which was released on July 16th, a message was announced: big project of Minami-Ke is ongoing, to be announced this Fall, probably. To folks who haven’t read the Manga or watched the Anime before, Minami-Ke (みなみけ, lit. The Minami Family) is a Japanese manga series by Koharu Sakuraba (桜場コハル), who also authored Kyou no Go no Ni (今日の5の2, Today’s Class 5-2, Wikipedia), another super evil series about elementary school beside the recent RO-KYU-BU!.

The story focuses on the daily life of three sisters: Haruka, Kana, and Chiaki. It’s full of fun and comedy. The first season of the TV Anime aired on October 7 2007, while the second season aired on January 6 2008 under the title Minami-ke: Okawari. The latest season (3rd) aired on January 4 2009 the title Minami-ke: Okaeri. If you noticed, an OVA of the series was also released right after the end of the third season.

So far, no other news were release and it’s still hard to speculate whether it would be a forth season, an OVA or even a movie. We will have to wait until this Fall for more information but it would definitely great to have a 4th season coming. It’s still one of the funnest series out there.

January 2009 New Anime Guide

Time for the Anime guide of this month. It seems to me that there aren’t many Anime I want to watching this month. Maybe I’m just tired of it ^^.

Akikan! (アキカン!)

OK, the first one is Akikan! and it’s about to on air today in Japan. I’ve already introduced this one and you can read more on my post here.

Minami-ke: Okaeri (みなみけおかえり)

This is the 3rd season of Minami-Ke series and I’m really fond of this Anime. Mainly talking about some daily life but the story itself is interesting and I really like the CVs (Character Voice, or Voicer) of Kana and Chiaki (Marina Inoue & Minori Chihara).

Asu no Yoichi! (明日のよいち!)

Asu no Yoichi! is a manga series written and illustrated by Yu Minamoto. Read more about this Anime/Manga on Wiki.

The Tower of Druaga: the Sword of URUK (ドルアーガの塔～the Sword of URUK～)

The Anime might not attract your attention in the first place, but it’s produced by GONZO, so, there might be something out there ^^. Continued with the previous season (The Tower of Druaga: the Aegis of Uruk), the story is about continuing climbing up the Tower of Druaga, this time, probably the real one. I didn’t get interested in this Anime before and my friend tried hard to convince me and he made it. I thought it was an funny Anime like others since the first episode is really fun and, amazing ^^. However, when watching the second episode, I got confused coz it told something identical to the first epsiode (the first episode is the day dream version of our hero Jil). But later, the story line changed and the plot’s getting tense, when I realized that I fell in love with this one.

To someone hasn’t watched the first season, try something below and you’re gonna love it ^^

The Tower of Druaga: The Aegis of Uruk is an anime TV series, created by Gonzo and is an animated continuation of Namco’s The Tower of Druaga franchise which began as an arcade game originally released in 1984. This series is amongst the first to be officially broadcast on the internet by Gonzo simultaneously in Japanese and subtitled in English on YouTube, Crunchyroll and BOST TV. The second season, The Sword of Uruk, has recently been announced to start airing in January 2009.

Rideback (ライドバック)

For sure, I don’t have much idea of this Anime series but the story seems unique.

It’s mainly about Ride Back tells the story of a girl a her “Iron Horse” robot motorcycle in 2020, a tumultous time of anti-goverment student protests. Via Anime News Network

Sora o Miageru Shojo no Hitomi ni Utsuru Sekai (空を見上げる少女の瞳に映る世界)

You probably have already known this Anime, it was producted by Kyoto Animation and named MUNTO in the form of OVA (2 episodes) in the first place, and now, it’s made into Anime. The OVAs were well produced and truly different from the Anime made by Tokyo Animation ^^. As for the story, it’s really complicated and you can have a brief on Wiki.

In the first Munto OVA, the main source of energy in the world, Akuto, is running low. The Magical World in the Heavens uses most of the available Akuto energy, antagonizing the Heavenly people and causing them to unite against the Magical Kingdom. To restore the flow of Akuto and save both the Magical Kingdom and the Heavens, young King Munto decides to follow a vision and find Yumemi, a girl who lives in the “Lower World”, Earth. Gass, the Guardian of Time, allows Munto passage to the Lower World, amid the chaos of potential war, to seek the girl of destiny. The prophetress Ryuely and her young apprentice Toche keep watch over Munto as he journeys to Earth.
