Poll: Favorite Character of Natsuiro Kiseki

Most of the new TV Anime series of this April aired their first episode, and the rest of them will make their appearances some time this week. As one of the most expected series of this Spring, Natsuiro Kiseki (夏色キセキ, A Summer-Colored Miracle) gives me a strong impression. Even though I still compare it with To Aru Kagaku no Railgun for the character setting, the series does attract my attention. More importantly, the series brings us some really good characters and I have just created a poll below to find out which characters our readers like most. If you haven’t started watching the series or it was not in your watch list, you may want to give it a shot.

The order of the characters is from left to right in the above pic, in case you haven’t remembered their names: Natsumi Aizawa (逢沢夏海), Yuka Hanaki (花木優香) Rinko Tamaki (環凛子) and Saki Mizukoshi (水越紗季).

Toaru Majutsu no Index Novelist Launches New Series

We’ve talked about the rumor of new season of TV Anime series Toaru Majutsu no Index and Toaru Kagaku no Railgun recently. These two series are from the same author Kazuma Kamachi (鎌池和馬) who recently ready to launch his new series. With a title of Waltraute-san no Konkatsu Jijou (ヴァルトラウテさんの婚活事情, Waltraute’s Marriage Hunting Situation), the series is illustrated by Nagi and will be available in the March issue of Dengeki Bunko Magazine (電撃文庫MAGAZINE). The story will center around an ordinary boy and the valkyrie Waltraute, a young female warrior with superhuman powers, as their unusual relationship develops.

The story appears to be another interesting love comedy which kindly reminds me of Sora no Otoshimono. But instead of Ikaros’ beautiful wings, we might be able to see (or read) some terrible weapons and superpowers of the cute Mrs.Valkyrie. Either way, it appears there are few light novel that actually translated into English. May be we can do something to help. Rumor: Toaru Majutsu no Index Third Season Coming?

According to the post on Mikatan’s blog, we learned that Toaru Majutsu no Index (とある魔術の禁書目録) will take some moves within the year, while the new move of Railgun project remains a secret. To interpret these lines, we can tell that there will be a new project of Toaru Majutsu no Index coming this year besides the movie we mentioned last year. Judging from the fact we still don’t know the premiere date of the movie, a third season of the TV Anime could be something that we are waiting for. As for the Railgun series, there should be one but the date remains unknown. It could be at the end of this year or some time next year.

Mikatan is a staff of Good Smile Company and the promotion message could be some insider talk. Thus the statement on the company culture blog could add more weights to your confidence. Stay tuned and will post more updates on this.

Rumor: To Aru Kagaku no Railgun Second Season Coming?

We have been talking about this for a while and it seems we are getting more clues this time. According to the pic below, the SPECIAL box of series To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (とある科学の超電磁砲, A Certain Scientific Railgun) will be released on August 31 containing music, illustraoins and everything fans may like. It also mentioned that with all the content inside the box, fans will be quite satisfied even the second season of the series has not yet arrived. To interpret this message, we can get the basic idea about the process of the second season which is, may not be able to come in this year with the release date of the special box on late August. But luckily, we finally confirmed it is coming even though there were rumors quite a while ago.

As fans may have already noticed, the series, including To Aru Majutsu no Index has a preference of being aired in October. We have the first season of To Aru Majutsu no Index aired back in October 2008 and the second season in October 2010. As for To Aru Kagaku no Railgun, the first season was aired in October 2009, thus it would be a better guess if we assume it will be aired in October 2011, this year. But as we have interpreted above, we may not able to have it this year and guess why they made an OVA for the delay. As for the schedule of the airing, our guess is it could be around Winter or Spring season next year, that is January or April 2012.

Man Arrested for Stealing Ruiko Saten Figure

Reported on July 12 on MSN news in Japan, a 47-year old man was arrested for stealing Ruiko Saten (佐天涙子) PVC figure. According to the news, the suspect stole the figure (6400JPY) back on May 28 and ran away by leaving his membership card behind, including his real name and address. It pretty much seems to be like a well planned unique way of promotion of the figure to me rather than a ill planned robbery.

By matching the description of the news, what we can find is the figure below. Released in late January 2011, the 1/8 scale PVC figure was manufactured by Alter (アルター). Original from series To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (とある科学の超電磁砲), Saten, the 12 or 13 years old secondary school girl is well known for flipping Kazari Uiharu’s (初春飾利) skirt in public. Poor girl, I mean the later one. Even Saten is voiced by Kanae Itou (伊藤かな恵), I still don’t have many good feeling towards her.

Latest but not least, instead of stealing something that might get you caught by the police, you can get this figure on the follow online stores: Play-Asia, CDJapan and Amazon Japan.

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun 2nd Season Coming Soon?

Enjoy watching Anime series of the Winter season To Aru Majutsu no Index (とある魔術の禁書目録)? Still remember what happened at the very end of the last episode of the first season ended on March 2009? It was an announcement of the coming new series: To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (とある科学の超電磁砲). Same again, guess what will happen at the end of the 24th episode of the 2nd season of the series which will come to an end next week (if nothing happen)? A 2nd season of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun!

This is not a confirmed news but pure assumption. Dated back to some time last year rumors across the web revealed that there would be a second season but instead an OVA of To Aru Kagaku no Railgun was released. Apparently it is not enough for both the company and the fans and it would probably a good time for the coming of the second season of the series. Let’s just wait for the coming last episode of the 2nd season of To Aru Majutsu no Index.

fripSide: LEVEL5-judgelight-

The second OP of the Anime To Aru Kagaku no Railgun was released. The new OP LEVEL5-judgelight- is also performed by fripSide like the first OP only my railgun. Really like the style of this band and the track fits the Anime pretty well. Guess the Anime is approaching the end and I still cannot see what will happen at the end of the story. The male protagonist Toma shows up from time to time in the series but still performs like a normal character. Will sure to follow the second season of the Anime To Aru Majutsu no Index.

Recommended Anime of October 2009

Before we go for the recommended Anime of October 2009, I’d like to talk about the overall performance of the Anime of the month. I was not interested in most of the Anime of the month in the first place, and then after quick view of the first episode of several Anime I realized that there did exist some nice ones. And it also appears that most of the Anime of the season have lots of cute girl characters.

To Aru Kagaku no Railgun / とある科学の超電磁砲 (13 episodes)

A side story of four girls which considers to be the best of the season (by me). The protagonist Toma of the original story only showed up in a few episodes and only for a few seconds. The fight between Toma and Misaka was still a good point to watch. Hope there will be a second season of To Aru Majutsu no Index.

Kämpfer / けんぷファー (12 episodes)

Fell in love with this series after watching/listening to the first episode. Lots of my favorite CVs around, including Kaori Nazuka (名塚佳織) who is on the top of my list (love her voice since the Anime .hack//Roots). Lots of interesting characters in the series especially the rude version of Akane. If you like CVs and like girls, you should try it out.

Nyan Koi! / にゃんこい! (12 episodes)

I thought the story would be a love triangle among the main three characters. I was wrong, at least partly when girl characters started to grow in a speed that I cannot overlook. Sometimes too many characters, especially girls may course terrible disaster to the protagonist.

Just finished watching the first season one week ago and cannot stop keeping watching the second season. The story is quite well composed and the overall performance is above average.

Seiken no Blacksmith / 聖剣の刀鍛冶 (12 episodes)

If I read the novel of this series, I might fall in love with it. But the character design of the Anime is not my style and the characteristic of the female protagonist is…not acceptable to me. Though I don’t like the heroine the story itself is interesting, will keep on watching.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu 2nd Season / 乃木坂春香の秘密 (12 episodes)

To be frankly I haven’t finished watched the first episode but the story seems to over emphasize relationship between the protagonists which is a little bit unreasonable. And sometimes the plot really scares me and I felt disgusting from time to time. Some how the story reminds me of Ai Yori Aoshi (藍より青し) which has the similar atmosphere as this one (but much more acceptable).

Seitokai no Ichizon / 生徒会の一存 (13 episodes)

This is a unique series of the season. Some fans think Drama CD is a more reasonable way to extend the original novel story among the five student union members. If you haven’t read the novel before, try not to before you finish the Anime. The recent episodes show some sad stories about each characters and this is part of the sad side of the novel. Try to have fun with the Anime series and if you decide to have a series look into the original story which claims to be 90% fun and 10% serious, try out the novel, you won’t regret.

Fairy Tail / フェアリーテイル (18 episodes)

If you watched Rave Master (レイヴ) before, you may like this series. If you like Hiro Mashima (真島ヒロ), you may find lots of similar thing between these two series. The series is currently ongoing and am not sure the altogether 18 episodes can demonstrate the story well.

Sora no Otoshimono / そらのおとしもの (12 episodes)

Cannot believe I forgot to mention this one. I was not very interested in this series in the first place since the commercial of the series is a little too ero and at that time I was more focus on the story side of the Anime of this season. But anyway I tried almost every series of the season and put this one into my list. It looks like a ero one in the first place (indeed it is) but later turned out to be some else in the recent episodes. Will keep on watching.

ELISA: Dear My Friend -Mada Minu Mirai he-

The ending single of Anime To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (とある科学の超電磁砲) has released. The ED Dear My Friend -Mada Minu Mirai he- (Dear My Friend －まだ見ぬ未来へ－) is performed by ELISA, a singer which I didn’t noticed until the release of the track. Quite sweet the voice, fits the ending MV well.

The opening single of the Anime To Aru Kagaku no Railgun (とある科学の超電磁砲) has released. Voiced by fripSide, the OP only my railgun is really a nice track which fits the side story well. The story itself seems pointless somehow after watching the first six episodes yet Mikoto becomes quite cool when she is using her “Railgun” power.
