Yuru Yuri EP 08 – April Fool’s

Summary

Just another day of tidying up in the Student Council room when President Ayano suddenly exploded. Oh, and Chitose has a twin. Who thought Chitose knew how to lie? Or, maybe she wasn’t actually lying . . .

As Kyouko and Yui commence working on their semester homework (ugh…Kanji) they encounter advisor Chitose engrossed in reading. Despite using all possible methods to get her attention, Kyouko and her brand new samurai hairstyle are left defeated. Eventually Ayano joins, accompanied by Chitose, who introduces her previously unknown twin sister Chizuru. Although the award for most consistently oppressive attitude definitely goes to the newcomer Chizuru, their twinly likenesses are obvious. She’s even got the fantasizing act down (minus the drool).

Attempting to build a closer relationship with Chizuru, Kyouko continues to press, with little to show for it other than a lumpy head. Soon enough, the depressing possibility that Chizuru might be a bit more ‘dere’ than hoped for, makes for a long night of reminiscing at Yui’s . . . Rum Raisin?

Impressions

TAKE A GOOD AT THESE FACES. IT WILL BE THE LAST TIME YOU WILL EVER SEE THEM (at least for this episode~)

They weren’t kidding around when they said Akari(n~) wasn’t going to get any notability! Or face-time for that matter. Even Chinatsu has been pushed to the ‘back of the pack’ (  >3<) So take my advice and take a few last glances at the invisible duo.

Noting the plot, however, it does make sense that an extra character ‘space’ would have to be emptied (arigatou Chinatsu-chan—Akari’s rarely present anyway) to make room for the new member of the squad:  Chizuru. Thus far, it doesn’t look good for desperate lead Kyouko, and it’s not tsundere either—Chizuru’s dark on the outside and soft/fluffy on the inside (kind of like a human Three-Musketeers ^^) displayed by the twin’s classic ‘take-care-of-each-other-because-your-twins’ routine.

Now with a void left by the absence of “leads” Akari and Chinatsu, and even Saku-wari EP 09 has much to deliver—and by deliver of course I mean kurisumasu deto! Oh, was that already done . . . okay then, Puroresu maybe?
